UDRC regularly invites design researchers from leading global design firms, as well as famous scholars and specialists to become research members of the UDRC research team. Research teams composed of people from different cultures and backgrounds are the core of UDRC.

Research Projects

Breaking through traditional research methods, UDRC digs deep into the rich Chinese culture and tradition and the complex consumption habits of the population, making the most of multinational and multidisciplinary cooperation. We can perceive and communicate the potential for products’ innovation and development, while developing & utilizing new design research models and methods on a global level.

Working Method

• According to a well constructed and proven plan, research teams will work out procedures for different research directions.
• Regular round table meetings will be called to report and share the research results.
• Regular Salons will be introduced to invite Chinese design elites and UDRC members.
• We will regularly invite Chinese consumers and UDRC members to take part in focus groups on certain research themes.
• UDRC members will be periodically invited to companies or universities to make lectures or provide training courses.
• Social activities will also be included to help the UDRC members to experience local lifestyles.

Cooperation with universities

This is a long-term strategic plan of UDRC. It is expected to advance the cooperation with international academies in the fields of design research. This project includes sponsorship, scholar interviews, curriculum development, intern projects, etc.
